Classes and Company

At Taylor Academy of Dance, along with our other classes, we also offer dancers the opportunity to audition and be a part of our dance company. Our company offers 5 different levels to dancers who are interested in taking multiple classes a week in various styles, participate in our full length Nutcracker, perform in Year End Recitals and Full Length Ballets, and participate in community outreach opportunities!

Why Dance with Our Company?

-At our studio, dancers are placed based on technique-not age. While many studios group students based on age, we recognize that every dancer develops at their own pace. We prioritize individual growth, ensuring that each student receives the personalized support and attention they deserve.

-Our faculty provides one-on-one corrections to help you grow not only as a dancer, but as a developing artist-refining your technique with care and intention.

-Success stories? We have plenty! Our alumni have gone on to train and perform with prestigious programs such as Mercyhurst University, UNCSA (University of North Carolina School of the Arts), Western Kentucky University, the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, and many more, including many students who now dance professionally.

-Many of our dancers have received numerous scholarships, both for their dance technique and academic to help support their college journeys and future goals.

-Students have the opportunity to study a wide range of techniques in ballet (such as Balanchine, Vaganova, Bournonville, and more), Modern (Graham, Limon, Horton, etc.), Jazz (Classic, Broadway, Lyrical, Contemporary Jazz) and much more!

-We value dancers who are dedicated to the art, even if they choose to dance only through high school. Many of our high school students receive scholarships for dance, even if they chose not to pursue dance after graduation.

-Our dancers spend their summers training across the country in states like Georgia. Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and beyond! They often earn scholarships to these elite programs to support their training.

-In our company we foster a supportive and inspiring community. Our studio is more than just a place to train, it’s a place to belong. We cultivate an environment where dancers encourage one another, build lasting friendships, and grow together through their shared passion for dancing.

  1. I have been dancing with Ms. Jill since she opened her studio. She is such an amazing teacher and an amazing person. The way she explains things really helps you see what you are doing wrong and how to fix it. Ms. Jill makes classes fun for everyone and we still learn a whole lot. Everything i have learned about dance i have learned from Ms. Jill she has also taught me some very important life lessons. I am so glad she is my teacher!

  2. This is my first year at Taylor Academy of Dance, and although the year is just getting started, I already love it! The studio has a very professional, warm & welcoming environment. All the students are very sweet. Miss Jill takes the time to get to know each & evry girl, and give them the individual attention they need to improve not only in their dancing, but in their self-confidence. She is an encouraging, compassionate, reassuring, and talented woman! She has really opened my eyes, and I am so happy and excited to see what the future has in store for me!
